Coaching Staff

Sarah Heinevetter is in her twelfth year as head coach of the Franklin High School Dance Team and eighteenth year as founder and head coach of Franklin Spirit, Prep, and Mini. She is currently employed at Franklin High School as a Family and Consumer Education teacher. Sarah grew up dancing competitively at Young Dance Academy and in high school was on the Franklin Varsity Dance Team. She received a scholarship as a member of the Middle Tennessee State University dance team. After twelve years of coaching, Sarah is now four time middle school state champion, thirteen high school state champion, and two time national pom champion.  She was the 2020 WACPC Dance Coach of the Year.

Jim Ward is the President of Franklin Dance, LLC and has served as the Business Manager for the developmental program since its founding in 2007.  In addition to being a lifelong “dance dad”, he previously taught/coached at Young Dance Academy and consulted at other middle/high schools. He attended college on a full athletic scholarship as a member of the award winning Morehead State University Spirit Squad and has judged a number of State Championship competitions.  A former school board member for the Franklin Public Schools, Dr. Ward is currently employed with We Energies and is an adjunct faculty member at several area universities.  He is currently a member of the Wisconsin Association of Cheer and Pom Coaches (WACPC) Board of Directors.

Brandi Berg is Youth Developmental Team Director and in her eighth year coaching Franklin Spirit. She is employed in the Wauwatosa School District as a Middle School Counselor. Brandi grew up competitively dancing at Next Step Dance Studio and was part of the very first Franklin Spirit Team. She was a four year member and captain of the Franklin Varsity Dance Team and five time state champion. She is now a 9 time state-champion Middle School Coach. Brandi was a member of the dance team while at UW-Lacrosse before transferring to UW-Madison where she graduated with a degree in Human Development & Family Studies. After, received her Masters Degree in School Counseling from Marquette University. We are so lucky Brandi as the COO of Franklin Dance and the Developmental Team Director for the Youth Program.

Lauren Adamczyk is currently in her fifth year of coaching Prep. Growing up, Lauren danced competitively at Next Step Dance Studio, was a three year member and captain of Franklin Spirit, and a four year member and captain of the Franklin Varsity Dance Team. She then attended UW Oshkosh, and was a two year member and captain of their dance team. Lauren graduated UWO with a Business degree in Marketing with an emphasis in Digital Marketing, and now works at Briggs and Stratton as a Digital Marketing Specialist . We are very excited Lauren is returning to coach and build on her 7 state championship titles with Prep.   He is currently a member of the Wisconsin Association of Cheer and Pom Coaches (WACPC) Board of Directors.

Ellie Mauer is in her fifth year of coaching Mini. Previously Ellie attended UW-Oshkosh where she was a member, captain, and coach of the dance team. She is now pursuing her career as a nurse at Children’s Wisconsin’s Emergency Department Trauma Center. Ellie grew up dancing at APA and Young Dance Academy. She was a four year member and captain of the Franklin Varsity Dance Team and a five time state champion. She has won 7 championship titles with Minis. We are very excited Ellie is back for another season and will be coaching Mini.

Eliza Devereaux is heading into her 4th season with Franklin Dance. She previously assisted Franklin Spirit and last year was the Assistant Coach with double state champion Franklin High School.  She grew up doing competitive dance at Young Dance Academy and then was a four year member of the Franklin Varsity team. She was a captain for two years as well as a seven time state champion, two time All State recipient, and a two time national champion. Post high school, she attended Marquette University and was on their dance team for a year, and is now pursuing her dream for her passion of cosmetology working at White Brick Salon in Brookfield. We are happy Eliza is back as our Technique Leader for our Youth Program!
